Well, it's done! I've now adapted all existing quests to the new system. There might be a few things left there and there, but overall, it's ready for testing! The only things left are the monster generator(needed for the Flow and random dungeons) and the Avemorsh secret level, which I plan to completely revamp. The Avemorsh questline has potentiel to develop the backstory of the defunct orc race, so I want to give it an actual plot. I also want to make it more rewarding, and provide rewards whenever you complete a part of it. So even if you find it too hard to complete the whole thing, you can still be rewarded for completing some parts of it. Then you can come back later when you are better prepared, and complete the rest.
As for the main questline, it still goes up to Balcia, but only down to dungeon level 50. I feel that dungeon level 60 is a little too high for the moment, so I lowered it to 50 for the last dungeon. Balcia herself went down from 65 to 55. (or from 100, if you compare to 0.4) And I actually took out her 15 lives. No regular enemies have any extra lives, and currently no uniques either. Not even Nightmare Horrors(at least not yet!). With the new system being more balanced, an extra live makes a fight MUCH harder, and so must be used very carefully.
Speaking of Nightmares, Nightmare Scout has been toned down a bit. It's CR has been lowered from 4 to 3, and some stats got lowered a bit. Don't get me wrong, it's still very strong, but I felt CR4 was a little too high for it. Nightmare Shadow Mistress is back now! She takes the place as a CR4 Nightmare. While I promised in a previous post that she would be deadlier than ever, I was actually nice, and decided to tone down her dodging ability. She now has the same as the Shadow Queen, so it's still very powerful(especially with her really high stats), but it's no longer immune to "always hit" attacks and also no longer apply to magic attacks, giving you some ways to actually hurt her and making the ability less "cheap" overall.
Ranged weapons revamp is done for now. Overall, their multipliers went down, as it needed to be nerfed. Ranged was too strong. But to make up for that, there is now a much wider variety of weapons available. Crossbow users will finally have a REAL choice, with a selection of light crossbows and heavy crossbows made of all the metals and ice! All firearms have been redesigned too, with a variery of new weapons. Pistols, rifles, elemental guns... there's some variety. Their rarity and status as a "new technology" now has a bit more focus, and all firearms have a little description. Hopefully they will add some flavor!
