Hi everyone, it's a bit embarrassing, but I've run into a problem on the Orc Quest.
My character made it down to the kobold thief, but got killed by him. Now that I have resurrected, it does not seem possible to complete the quest. When I get to the proper level, the dungeon is empty.
If you get killed on a quest, do you lose the possibility to finish it?
Thanks!

You shouldn't. Did you try exiting and re-entering? were there orcs above killing the citizenry when you resurrected? *You aren't supposed to die to that guy by the way...he is so easy and you should be of a decent level before you even get that far.*

ah, don't listen to Gando, I died to that guy more than once, but not since the new resurrection and reincarnation system was added. Of course I've played dozens of characters since then, so don't feel bad. Anyway, you may have discovered a bug. It might be a good idea to list it in the bugs forum in the 0.4 build 002 thread, assuming that is the version you are using... try the version command in the game to make sure ('v', 'V', ctrl-v?)
I looked at the lua code to see if I could figure out your situation, but without getting an exact rundown of your event values as they stand now, that task would be impossible. I suggest start another character. This time when you kill Gorg at the bottom of the first dungeon, stick his head in your home and leave, you can come back and show the mayor after you are more powerful and are sure you can kill Belgam the Kobold. Just go north, until you come to another town, that one has a couple side quests that may help you level up more. Or, you could just go 1 outside map square away and start doing random dungeons in the wilderness, see where that takes you (that might actually be easier). Either way, don't come back until you are at least level 12, maybe more, so you can wipe the floor with Belgam.

Thanks for the tips - i'll give it a try! And next time I will try to keep better track of all the variable in case it happens again.

Don't listen to Gando! What? What did I say that was incorrect? You should NOT die to that guy ever. A reasonable pacing in doing the quests is all that is required. He is super easy once you get to say level 10 or so.

Its not about being "incorrect" its about how you say it. You make it sound like anyone who dies to Belgam is a total idiot who has no business playing this or any other game. Kinda harsh. Just because you were lucky enough not to die to him back when you were green enough to not know better, doesn't mean you are somehow superior, just lucky at the beginning and more experienced now.
Hey, maybe you don't think you are superior, but it sure came off that way to me which is why I said not to listen to you. I guess I should have said "don't let Gando's post make you feel like you are an idiot, because you aren't an idiot, you are just learning"

To me that sounds like you are reading things into it that aren't in it. I know you have nuts for me because we oppose each other at every turn but really this is taking a vendetta a bit far. Why not leave the trolling flames at home eh?
For the record, I don't consider anyone to be an idiot who takes the time to play a game as intense as Portralis can be. I do think some people can be foolish, myself included when taking on a game with no linear progression. I was "fortunate" enough to not fall prey to THAT mistake but if you actually read the forums post going back to the beginning of my time here I post quite a few others. Any conceit/arrogance you read into this is your own.
