Here's the bug thread for 008. I know there will be, especially considering there's quite a couple of new features.

Are crossbows supposed to be 1-handed weapons? They are in Final Fantasy Tactics, so it isn't too out there.... but I honestly thought they were supposed to be 2-handed.
Also: you know how you made it so that weapons won't give skill for other weapons? I think, maybe that should be extended to ammos. I found a bolt that gave skill to axes... shouldn't it increase crossbow?
Um...... am I supposed to find a guy named Maelan in the caves in the first town? On level 3, in a deadend in the south-west corner. Talks about some witch, and Belric the tyrant or something? I get the feeling he's misplaced.
errrr....... He showed up again.

I just reuploaded the game, please redownload it. There was a SPECIAL_GENE flag missing on him.
However, this makes the ammo slot benefical to any types of characters. Non-ranged characters can still place something in that slot to benefit their own build.
I think it's only the Light Crossbow.

Counter shot will shoot at nothing if you can't see your target. the used ammo just shows up under you. Counter shot will counter Blink Away.

Well, it's technically programmed to counter anything, but I guess blink away probably shouldn't be.

When I use the marksman's enhance range weapon, velocity, I get this string of code ....\script\abilities.lua:2344: attempt to call gstack traceback:(vtnl) ....\script\init.lua:61 in funct
the .... before \script pretty much goes all the way back to the c: drive. The skill itself works just fine.

I haven't played in about a year, so maybe this bug is something old.
Either way, I'm stuck and surrounded by impenetrable walls when I get to the second floor of the quest after killing Gorg. I loosely remember that a quest floor doesn't work well with "always small rooms" or some option like that. I've tried fiddling around with the options, but I've had no luck so far. I've tried a dozen times and I always end up stuck, unable to move or teleport.
Is this a new bug or an old and what am I supposed to do?

You extracted it correctly, not overriding old directories or using old files, right? Because I do remember similar bugs occuring in the past, but I'm pretty sure this one was fixed. Anyway, here's a solution I posted for another case of "stuck": Open passive.lua in the script folder, and somewhere in calc_bonuses function, add a call to "sewers_exit_to_slums", which will teleport you in Jindar. Then save, quit, and remove that line. That will teleport you in Jindar, in the slums. But you'll be out without having to commit suicide.

I never installed it on this computer before. I went to the download link, and got it just today (version 0.3.0, beta 008). I was playing with most of the default options. I changed a few things like stacking options, but nothing related to room creation.
It might be worth investigating because it seems like a new player who downloads Portralis will encounter frustration very quickly! I'll send you my save file by email. Lots of the options are changed with my save file because I was trying everything possible after encountering this stuck bug.

The skill itself works just fine. For your edification that is the path to the game's lua script directory. which will always be [place where the parent folder is]/lib/script/script.lua (where script is whatever script is being mentioned in the error) Also it means there is some problem with that function but what it is, is vague. Variaz perhaps there could a be debug mode that reports more verbosely?

Not sure, this was built-in in the lua modules. It may be possible to change them, but it would probably be a lot of efforts for little gains. There's probably something obvious that causes the error. I'll try to reproduce it, and see what's wrong with the code.

Apparently Damage reflection is broken again. I fought a damage returning (phys) boss and accidently hit it and did not take any damage at all much less die as used to happen. Not that I hate this outcome. It is nice not to die to one's physical difficulties (twitchy fingers etc).

Did you use an elemental type that you're immune to?
Did you use a special melee attack? (Any "U" abilities will not be returned)

I found the same bug on the second level inside the prisons in udor. After killing the orcs/goblins on the level below the townhall, i went into a down stair, and ended up in a room completely surounded by permanent walls, and I wasnt even standing on a stair.

Same here, im gonna try seeing if theres a newer version out when i wake up. Also, dunno if its me but it only seemed to break when i played a monster race, did a dwarf just fine last night. Again, patchfix and i will get back to you on this.
