Though Portralis is great and all, it's still amongst the least known variants out there. Now, under the name of Portralis, I would REALLY like Portralis to gain more popularity, and to make this forum much more active! What we need is to advertise the game... If any of you have any ideas on how we could help increase the popularity of the game, please post it here. If you know any roguelike or gaming forums with Angband players, it would be nice if you could advertise the variant. It's best if you do it instead of me, as it would be a much more honest and unbiaised opinion! Please post if you have any ideas!  |

Yes, Thangorodrim is definitely *the* most important site! I think advertising should strat there. A while ago, I wrote a review for Portralis. Variaz, do you think it's time to send it to the Thangorodrim maintainers? Or is threre anything else that we should change in the review (if you like, I can send it to you again)? In either case, I agree that Portralis needs some heavy advertising! I just managed to force a neighbour of mine into it (he's never even heard of roguelikes before), and he likes it! ;D But that's not enough, of course. We need to spread the news over the net, and spread it well! Other banders don't even know what they're missing!!!  |

Thangorodrim was really nice(in fact, I used to write to the Thangorodrims maintainers in the past, NewAngband is on their site)... but it has not been updated at all lately.... In fact, no updates of the 2006 variants have been post at all! The site being dead, I'm not too sure if it's worth it...
I guess there's the roguelikes newsgroup. Or perhaps if you know any other sites for angband/roguelikes?
One thing I did was to go to wikipedia as well as Furytech's site, and updated the wikies with Portralis, and if you click on the name, it sends you to the official web page. That's at least a start, but that's not enough...

Well, I e-mailed the maintainer of angband.oook.cz/, the angband ladder site, to rename the NewAngband entry to Portralis, and also that there was now version 0.1 released, and to announce the release in the banding news section. Hopefully he'll do so, that would be a good thing! |

I think angband.oook.cz is probably the best place now that tangorodrim is no longer updating. It's were I've started going to keep up to date anyway.

LOL Well, he DID update his page, but he specified the game features the elven world of Nimbraya!  I think there are some misunderstanding here, but at least he updated it already! The world is Portralis, and Nimbraya is one of the kingdoms that's not done yet(and won't be until a while, next one will probably be Ivhala!) But at least he updated it! |

heh, I just assumed I'd not got far enough in the game or skipped some of the backstory.
but it certainly got me playing, so it did do something.

I know the tome wiki has a page for other roguelikes. We can also add it there. I'll have to search it though.
