In the past, we had NewAngband version 1.5 and lower. In this version, there was a class called the Berserker. How awesome this class was! 
But somehow, he didn't make it to Portralis... I wonder why. 
Let's analyze the class!
THE CONCEPT:
Raging warrior who performs powerful combat feats by tapping in his inner rage.
THE EXECUTION:
Well, the Berzerker was in permanent rage, so much that the entire screen was displaying everything red all the time. Because he was in permanent rage, he was too berzerk to do the following:
- Read scrolls.
- Drink potions.
- Use Wands.
- Use Staves.
- Use Rods.
- Cast spells.
But then, with an Intelligence of 3, and a Wisdom of 3(back when it was still that 18/XX system), you can't expect him to be too smart, right? At least he had 18/100 strength from the start...
But fortunately, to make up for his lack of drinking knowledge(thanks goodness he was starting the game with an amulet of slow digestion!), Mr. Perma-Rage had some really awesome abilities, such as:
- Full Identify.
- Instant-Recall.
RRAAAHHH!!! Fear my wrath, fiend! IDENTIFY!!!
CONCLUSION:
The Berserker was an interesting class to say the least. While he was dumber than a rock, at least Identify and Recall made him quite the melee powerhouse. I'm sure he would have loved the boost I gave to Divination spells! And if we ever get the Translocation school, I'll consider bringing him back, since he'll have the skills to improve his fearsome abilities!
