Will levelling an artifact, such as Aria's soul, ever increase the base damage or stat bonuses of that artifact? So far I have only seen the hit, damage, and brand increase, nothing else. I've already taken to keeping a 6d11 steel katana I found around for use with accurate strike against physical returning bosses, and If I ever come across a sword with a significantly higher base damage and brand, I'll have to start using it instead. After getting the sword of balance from the knight of balance, is there any reason not to enchant this sword? Any quests that are going to require it? I tested and aborted, but the tweakable sword of balance I got would be quite nice eventually as the gray damage climed. Also, I looked in k_info.txt, and the indestructible quality didn't take, probably becasue it's in a second F: line.

Every 10 levels, the damage dice and sides should increase by 5%. Now, on Aria's soul, perhaps the base damages are too low, and it rounds to 0... I should perhaps put a minimum of 1, though I'm a little worried about daggers becoming too powerful that way...
Oh, thanks for mentionning that though. While checking the code to answer your question, I've noticed a small typo in the code resulting in the damages sides never increasing, but the damages dices will increase twice.

I don't think it would be overpowered necesarily. I'm finding it difficult to level up aria's soul, as it's only level 6 still. Most kills don't seem to count towards the sword levelling. It may be that brand damage kills don't count. There may be some other factors, I don't know what is required precisely for a kill to count towards the sword.

Kills resulting from the brand damage do not count. This was a question brought up about Bee Sting (a level-able poison dagger from earlier versions). Some players felt they should count (me being one of them ) and some felt it would result in leveling the weapon too fast (which I can also see as a possibility).
