Hi!
I've just got a new laptop, and now I'm trying to play New Angband on this computer too. However, I've never before played any roguelike on a laptop, and of course, now I'm having quite some difficulties. ;D
Are there any hints and tips about how to play a roguelike on a laptop? How do you play the game?
Thanks!

I've only had a laptop myself for the past few years. The easiest way to play roguelikes is to get a keypad. Otherwise you're stuck either just using the arrows to move around or having to switch function keeys on and off every few seconds.

Easiest way I can think of is to use the arrow keys to move and if you have to make a diagonal move remember what number key will move you on that diagonal.

For me, I turn num lock on, and uses the numbers keys on the top of the keyboard for diagonal moves. It's a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. At least I got used to it!

I am always playing on a laptop. I do the same as Variaz. Although I used to use the arrow keys, and when I needed a diagonal I turned on the num block.
As it happens you dont normally need diagonals except when you are in combat, as you will be running most of the time.
