Define "heavily cursed"

I'm running a level 12 monster race lesser demon at the moment, and after killing a berserker I found a so called sword of devestation. Now, I read a scroll of identify on thre sword, and it seems a pretty sweet piece of equipment. Here are it's stats:

Sword of Devestation (L:1, K:0/15) (+10,+30) (50%) (+9000Darkness)

It is a great bane of dragons.
It is especially deadly against orcs.
It is especially deadly against trolls.
It strikes at demons with holy wrath.
It strikes at undead with holy wrath.
It fights evil with holy fury.
It is especially deadly against natural creatures.
It increases your life.
It provides resistance to life draining.
It can gain experience levels.
It is heavily cursed.

Essentially, this is a sword of kill everything. However, I am obviously wary of equiping something that is "heavily cursed", so what are the effects of heavy curses? Is it just the sword is stuck to you and it can't be removed, or is there additional nastiness involved? Thanks in advance.

"Heavy Curse", by itself, is just that you cannot remove the item, and you need a scroll of *Remove* Curse. A simple remove curse scroll will not work with Heavily Cursed stuff.

Now, the Sword of Devastation is rather special, and there is something else involved in wearing it. If you want to try it... I hope you have a LOT of resistances, and very high AC. ;D

Heh heh.. what it does is that it will set your hp to 1 as long as you wear it. So a single hit from ANYTHING will kill you.

That is evil, pure evil. No wonder my characters die so often, the game was designed by a psychopath!

(still, it's a great game though)
