I cannot reproduce this one either. Are you playing 008.3? The patch I uploaded a few days ago fixed many things regarding the Bard. Make sure you're not using any of the old files. Yes I'm positive I am playing the most current version. The only files I revert are the preferences and ini files.

Hi all I`ve found some bugs in 008.3: 1 Crafted Metal-plated rods have description "It has special powers that can be activated" but upon activation it writes "No powers to use". 2 Crafted boomerangs \ chakrams doesn`t Have boni to attack/damage. 3 Rumors in shops doesn`t work. 4 disk shape + ice block = Ice Plated Knuckle. 1. The reason why they don't have one is so that you can add your own using the Enchanter's Etch Runes ability. All rods have the "ACTIVATE" flag by default, so that's why crafted ones still have it, even if it does nothing. Not really a bug, just a slight flaw in the way rods crafting is made. 2. Fixed. 3. Fixed. Actually, shop rumors are an old relic of Vanilla, and meaningless to Portralis, so it has been disabled. 4. Fixed.

I didn't catch this the few times it happened before but reflecting monsters that hit me with reflected light damage (celestial here) cause an exception in init and in music. It has something to do with music being reflected back. Not sure exactly what.

There is really nothing more annoying than a teleporting boss that completely blocks magic but isn't strong enough (because it shouldn't be strong enough) to kill you. Fighting an endless battle at the bottom of a level 32 dungeon that took 20 levels to get to is really not my idea of fun. In fact it is immensely annoying to know that I have kill myself and not get the treasure or finish the dungeon because there is no way to kill this thing. Stupid insect boss.
Oh did I mention it has an extra life! and 2.9mil hp? Even my level 25 bard/soul guardian had the ability to overcome its insane MR it would take almost no damage (My songs damage maxes at 100k with 8 points in improve song and 5 in create song. Clearly I goofed by not putting every point of ability into ONE ability to get the minimal power to kill this thing but seriously...very annoying. Not only does it seem you can't use all the abilities of the bard to effect but you can't go to other classes and use abilities there or you will be hopelessly diluted. Assuming Bardic Music is your primary weapon as it is with my character.
Did I also mention it heals every time it teleports in the rare event I do hit it/cast at it/sing to it?
Id really like to know how a boss gets teleport but players can't even use the blink away spell on a ring of blinking in a dungeon final level? Seems highly unfair.
End note: After an hour of running around (I refused to suicide) I finally got it to follow me enough to take nearly lethal damage (twice) but I found I couldn't capture it's soul...when did that happen? Random Dungeon bosses can't be captured but Uniques can?

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional but it seems like it's a bug to me. I added the soul of Balgam (a unique) to a piccolo flute and noticed that the damage dice did not increase. As souls tend to increase the base stats of items I thought this peculiar enough to report.

I think the old quest bosses might need some tweaking. I am pretty certain as nasty as Zailab is he doesn't need to be summoning level 40 Unholy Rangers with multi lives and 100% counter blocks. Just a thought.

Using the Shortsword 'Aria's Soul' evidently counts as a magical attack. At least in terms of magic immunity. This seems odd since it is a sword not a light saber. Also the type listed on the sword is physical. It does have a light brand which is a brand of course but the physical damage should still happen instead of being zeroed.

I found a ring of wisdom depth 25. All it does is sustain wisdom...seems broken?

Fighting a Lightbased Dungeon Level boss I came across an oddity. Of course attacking it with my shortsword aria's soul healed (sure Light brand heals the guy instead of hurting it...makes sense even if we the players aren't allowed to do that since resists never go above 100% for us.) but then I switched weapons using Bee Sting with its poison brand. Dual Wielding off to be sure and I hit the guy for a bunch of damage in consecutive rounds then some how start to heal it with blows which I presume come from my second hand weapon (the light branded weapon) even though I am not dual weilding.) Does that really make sense? Hit the guy for 300k then heal him back to full health with my off hand?? Really???

Very bad game breaking bug here. I was fighting a Boss monster inside a secret level in the flow and as I was about to kill the monster it teleported to the only place it could go where I could not follow. The staircase behind the locked door that I can't open till I kill the boss. This is extremely aggravating as I will have to start over after killing myself to get out of this horrible trap. VERY NOT NICE! Please remove teleporting on special levels from bosses too. Or remove the lock on special levels that keeps you from exiting to the next level. I mean who says the hero can't sneak past the monster? (Isn't that what stealth characters do anyway?)

Apparently by 2 radius you mean 1 tile diagonally which is just wrong mathematically. Standing 2 tiles opposite a monster diagonally means they can just ignore the radius of my bardic abilities completely.

Another complaint/bug report about the flow. I made a lantern magical with a soul from a lesser vampire something or other. (Minor monster) and decided since the depth read 3 to put it through the flow. The flow level started! at 25 and has gone past 40. Which means I am facing level 60+ monsters. Does that seem at all right to twist a lantern slightly?
Also is it possible that there could be some monsters that don't block magic from the bard songs? The only thing they seem good for is killing minor pests that swarm you. Otherwise you either have to cast spells or use weapons to kill anything worth while. Just curious. So far I have run from most monsters (thus avoided gaining excessive experience since that isn't needful for anything. Except unless you want to level and get points. But I digress. Yes Bard is playable to level 20 or so and depth 24 or so but then it seems it becomes a complete waste of points. Of course I did the dumb thing and spread my points out between the abilities because you know...I thought they would have some synergy but in fact they don't. Everything not involved directly in boosting damage seems to be a complete waste. The defensive abilites are completely worthless. :/ I have to say I am severely disappointed in the bard class at this time. I am almost sorry to have suggested it in the first place.

A further update...I finally made it to the boss of the Lantern...it is level 72 with 40million hp and 7 extra lives. If that isn't over kill I don't know what is. Seriously the bosses of the flow are not even close to being insync with the rest of the game. Ridiculous.

While in the flow (different item than the Lantern from Hell) I found an odd bug. Attacked by some summoned ants I killed one via my sword and instead of dying it stayed at almost dead status even though it was at negative hitpoints. I had to remove its soul via soul bind to kill it finally.
And this occured with all Large Grey Ants summoned on this level (20 of the flow).
