Say, I've got a question... How come ball spells and circle spells cost the same amount of mana, all else being equal, when ball spells can be projected, while circle spells are always centered on the player? Seems to make circle spells almost useless... (Unless circle spells penetrate walls and ball spells don't?) Apart from the obvious solution (increase the mana cost of ball spells and/or decrease that of circle spells), here's an alternate idea... what if ball spells (but not circle spells) were capable of harming the player if they hit something too close? E.g. you fire a radius 5 fireball at a monster 3 squares away... owie! Of course, this might lead to a lot of frustrating insta-deaths, so perhaps warning could be given when firing at something too close, or the damage could be reduced by some "magic factor"...

One word: No. You know what? You just made me realize that you can actually target your own grid with a ball, making them 100% better than circles. I never actually tried before. But I'd say reducing the cost of circles would be the best way to go. Balls do not need a cost increase, and they certainly do not need to replace the 'Q' command.
