They are STILL rather obviously missing. Something i rather liked about tome was the in-depth descriptions of items and there effects, as well as the detailed (somewhat) info about the generic item type as well. Is there any chance of adding that kind of feature to portralis? (note to my chagrin. potions of water are not for drinking...) would be nice to get a visual description of the kinds of weapons and armor we are using. This is especially useful for kinds of weapons or armor that are not generic, like swords of balance. (Shouldn't they hold a different appearance? How about a description.) That's just an example. Also useful would be adding the spell effect descriptions to the spellbooks that teach those effects. (thus saving us the trouble of constantly referring back.)
Way back i ran across a helm of some kind (i no longer remember what it was, this was way back in 1.7.0 or thereabouts...) that i didn't even know what kind of item it was, much less what it should look like. This is a sorely missed feature, and hopefully, not just by me...

I suppose it would definitely be a nice feature to add some flavor. I'll try to add it for 008.

Divine are you volunteering to write all that text? lol Gando has a point. Though I might implement the feature, not all items will necessarely have a description instantly. I mean, there are hundreds of items here...

Actually i would be happy to volunteer to help write the text, but i don't know myself what some should look like. And i have a lack of solid internet connections, though hopefully that will soon be remedied. I know that sounds like I'm begging off, but please don't take it that way. On top of which NOONE knows what some items look like. I still have no clue how large or small a licialyhyd is... Other then the fact that they hold a remarkable resembalance to R. A. Salvatore's gemstone magic from the demon wars saga...
However this does bring up a valid point as to the amount of work, you could try hauling in support from the forums, i've thought of suggesting that for proofreading before (and the moment i have stable internet access, i volunteer for that too.) to help with the inevitable typos...
Finally, i don't expect every item to have a description instantly... but to gradually add in these detailed descriptions to new items, and eventually add them to old items as well, would be a wonderful thing. I know (thanks to tome) that a dagger is shorter then a short sword, then come broad swords, then long swords, then bastard swords, then two-handers... But i wouldn't have had a clue if it hadn't been for there descriptions... And i know some people (myself among them) used to picture a twohanded sword as not much taller then from a waist to a persons head... (foolish i know) which is why i rather like this idea.

hehe well some of us have been playing fantasy games since we were literally toddlers so Im sure there are enough knowlegable people to do the job. The problem is the daunting size of it and the shear amount of writing that adds up to. I haven't written a novel yet...not sure I want to write a novel's worth of words for a game (again).
