Abilities/Classes
Soul Guardian level 10 Soul Bind 19 (I was hoping to get to 20 and find some adamantium items to Bind but that really is unrealistic...even if the game really went to 200 levels it would be near impossible to accomplish such a thing as by the time youve reached level 60 dungeons you are probably wearing level 40 blue items and have nothing youd rather switch out. Also by then you've pretty much used every soul bound unique you could find. So 19 is WAYYYY...too many Never did find a mithril item except a few useless swords. I probably should have capped it at 9 so I could do Silk items (for the Elven Cloak).
Priest level 7 Channelling x10...turns out this was basically sufficient to develop the spells I needed to deal with dungeons up to level 45. I could see though that with the new level 40+ monsters with the multiple lives that this might not suffice forever. Some of the elites hit the 30mil hp mark which is just scary when you have to deal that x3 or 4 just to kill one. So those extra 9 points I lost to bad choices with Soul Guardian would have gone here.
Paladin level 9 Resist Impure 1 Probably a wasted point actually. I never really felt threatened by poison or any of the other ills. It helps having layered heal spells. I had one with restore stats/status and heal 15x3 which was sufficient to keep the status and stats effects off of me. And one that was heal 15x5 . So resist impure wasnt so important. Probably should have also gone to channelling.
Or alternatively I could have put 10 in Improved Wis Casting...still not sure if combining abilities is a great idea though.
By the way in case you are wondering...it is REALLY frustrating to try and capture uniques. I managed it but it was not easy nor quick. I kept dying and restarting with less items having to harvest more souls. It got easier the more uniques I collected and I did myself a favor by doing the easier quests first to get some basic ones. I loved having the different activations available to the soul bound items but very few were necessary as alot of them were offensive spell casting which I had down pat already.
