are fates still in use? I read a scroll of divination, having never seen a fate message, and got what was, in tome, the best fate ever. "You are fated never to die by mortal hand". Now, naturally, i *NEEED* to know if this is going to apply.

Hmmm... I don't think it will, but try it out(make a backup character). I didn't play with fates much, I only removed the bad one(fated to DIE), but I am not sure what I did with this one. Fates could surely be removed, they don't have much use in NewAngband.

Uhhh... oh no you didnt!!!!! My next fate was 'fated to die on level 200'. (since i dont think ill go that deep anytime soon, im safe.)
Oh, and i *AM* at least aware of how the 'fated to never die by mortal hand fate' works... i can be hurt, but the last killing blow (when im 0 hp), cannot be struck by a mortal.

Thanks for reporting that! Now, you know this won't stay in version 1.7.1, right?

Good. Since there's only one dungeon you can't skip fates like in ToME.

Fates are now totally gone! And by totally, I mean I removed all fates variables in the source code, save files, scrolls of divinations. Now you understand that the story of "@" is not predetermined. You are the one who shapes @'s destiny!

Sadly, they aren't, due to some change in the savefile code... sorry about that... What is this tip you found for the augmentation potions? I gave them an alchemical recipe, but perhaps there is another way you found that I might have overlooked...

well it is with a staff of wishing, i was asking for an agmentation... here comes the potion ( gulp ), then i wished for a magic item... well it give a scroll, and i had only one object left : a staff of wishing, so, to 0 charge, it passed to 3 and you can figure out the rest potion potion scroll, potion potion scroll, potion scroll ( sometime only 2 charges ), potion potion scroll...
