Just two short and simple suggestions for the magic system (I think there’s been talk about them before):
It is somewhat awkward to keep track of which magical effects you’ve learned so far. On the surface, the only way to see your effects is to start creating a new spell. And in the dungeon, you can’t see the effects at all.
So there are two solutions that I would suggest:
a) When you hit ‘m’, a short menu is displayed (cast a spell, make a spell, delete a spell). Maybe there could be another option VIEW KNOWN EFFECTS?
b) It would perhaps also be very simple if the game just wouldn’t allow you to read a book that you have already read. So it could tell you something like: “You have already learned this magical effect.”
I believe these two solutions wouldn’t be too hard to code. But they would IMO both come in handy.
Cheers!

I agree, and that wouldn't be too difficult to code either. Or perhaps bring back that old "Browse" 'b' command, to look at your learned effects...

And perhaps show what spells are in which slots when you are making a new spell? Sometimes you want to overwrite a spellslot with a more powerful version, and sometimes you just want to know what the next available spellslot is.

Indeed. I think the list of spells should be displayed as soon as you hit the 'm' command, no matter what you do next.

If you are going to bring up the list of made spells when you hit "m" then also please just make it so you can cast from that same page with a letter. You can make the other options like create spells and view effects number commands. This will cut down on the number of key strokes and push my carpel tunnel syndrome that much further away ;D
