First of all, I'd like to say that this is great variant. But there are some tihngs I would like to see in Portalis:
1) An "Automatically clear -more- prompts" option. As i tend to summon a lot in early game to fight with magic returning monsters, i have to press space zillion times each turn. Eventually i get bored, just press 5 (num keypad) and then die.
2) Some kind of autosquelcher (it doesn't have to be automatizer like in ToME, I liked the one in PernAngband, when you just had to choose wchich items were destroyed).
3) Abilities menu like in ToME - each ability has it's own number, and by using "count" command ("0" key) i can use this ability in macro and it doesn't matter on which position it is in menu.

Haven't checked the abilities menu in ToME, but I agree that abilities sometimes move up and down, and that can be a pain for macros. I haven't thought about how to rewrite this though... but I'll try to find a way to make it easier, and less "floating".

Maybe instead of coding it so a specific ability always has the same key, just make it so the order of abilities is fixed after you get them. So each new ability/power is just added on to the end of the list.

Yes, exactly like Challtdow said: could you code it so that any new ability just comes at the *end* of the list instead of the *top* This would definitely solve the problem.

It could be done! Of course, some little coding will be required, but it's very possible! And yes, that would definitly be helpful!

In 1.7.1 there was one ability in "U" menu, that appeared only when you had summons (I don't remember what was that). Are there more abilities like that? That could cause problems even if new abilities would be added to the end of list.

About autosquelcher: It would *really* be nice if there would at least be an option to automatically destroy every *non*-magical piece of equipment (weapons and armor) that you pick up. A little toggle switch in the options, perhaps? Of course, it is not that necessary, but it would make the game run even faster and smoother.
