I had a question or two about weapon decay/breakage.
1. Missile weapons. When you get to tweakable missiles, you can make them 'indestructable'. I haven't checked it lately, but at least in 1.7.1, they would still go away at a relatively high rate. Does indestructable apply to these items or not? I never had the courage to check it with artifact ones, but I don't know whether they go away, either. I never had a character with enough skill to have returning shots to know if they would still go away or not. I'm not sure this was a bug, but I certainly wasn't expecting something 'indestructable' to go away. I was mostly wondering what the situation really was.
2. On the same note, I was wondering about boomerangs. They are treated like a regular weapon by the way they are wielded and such, but they just seem to go away after you use them for a while. Is it supposed to be like that, or are they supposed to have a regular decay rate like other weapons? Like missiles, will 'indestructable' ones go away, too? Not, mind you, that I've ever seen even an ego one, but I would suppose ego, tweakable, and artifact ones could at least theoretically exist.

Right now, Indestructible does not apply to missile weapons... I guess it could though.
As for boomerangs, I'm pretty sure I remove the code where they automatically break... at least, if you equip them and 'f' fire them. If you 'v' throw them, though, I believe they will break like any other thrown items... And Indestructible does not apply to boomerangs either.

Oh, I never thought about firing an equipped boomerang. I guess that shows what I know. That would still use throwing skill, though, wouldn't it? It would really confuse me if an equipped boomerang used shooting skill.
Ah, so indestructable doesn't apply to missiles. I had rather figured that, but it is nice to know. That means one has to keep replenishing one's supply unless you're just leaving a few equipped for the stat and other bonuses. (That's the reason I really don't like the missiles giving those bonuses even though I am more than happy to abuse it.)
I think one could make a case that a boomerang could be allowed to be indestructable even though missiles aren't. After all, a boomerang is much more like a standard weapon or a launcher than it is a missile. Also, at least at the levels I've played, it is rare to find one of even ego status, let alone one that is tweakable or even an artifact, and I hate to lose such an item too easily.

If 'f' fired, boomerangs will still use the Throwing skill. Boomerangs could have durability like regular weapons I guess. Whenever they hit something, they could lose durability. And I guess regular boomerangs could be made available in the weapon shop, as it's true they are quite rare. Magic ones are even rarer... For the missiles bonuses, I agree with you, and I haven't forgotten about that Quiver idea!
