This is about the amulet of reflection and similar enchantments (Why yes, I do love turning the tables on the more frustrating difficulties in the game.)
I would say this is possibly a bug instead of a feature. If you're wearing an amulet of reflection and it bounces an enemy attack, it will hit one of your pets and the pet will turn on you. I think this one might be a lot of effort to do, but I think the solution would be to have reflected spells count as enemy attacks that can hurt everyone but you. That way they will be reflected properly, but not turn pets.

Thanks for reporting this one. Not sure if it will be easy to fix, but I'll see what I can do.

One way you could code it is to just have it hit / center on the original caster and do not worry about the bolt pathing. That way bolt spells would just hit the original caster and not your pets.

On the other hand - is this really a bug in the first place? Consider this: if one of your pets gets hit by something that came from YOUR direction, wouldn’t it be logical (and realistic) for the pet to assume that it was YOU who hit it? In that case, turning against you would be a perfectly legitimate move, even though you actually “didn’t mean it”. From this point of view, the amulet could stay the way it is now: The advantage of reflecting comes in package with some risk of annoying your pets, and you must consider this before you decide to wear it. This is item management, nothing more! There's bad in every good, and vice-versa... Isn't this the most fundamental idea of Roguelikes? Well, just something to think about. ;D Have fun!
