Hi everyone,
I've been playing vanilla angband for sometime now and have finally decided to expand into new flavors.
I tried newAndband as one of my first efforts and right off the bat I was impressed. I like the new town, the combat system and the levelling a lot better. It makes things a lot more interesting and I'm looking forward to getting those high level characters.
However I have a couple of problems with the game at the moment which maybe someone here can help me with.
I'm playing the windows version on WinXP. My first problem is that I cannot adjust the size of the main game window. I realize that some people like having lots of different windows open, but I prefer to have the primary window maximized and hit '*', 'i','e','r',etc for additionally info. I know on other *band ports that seem to share code for the windows allow you to stretch the main window. Even if I edit the .cfg file directly it reduces the window to the max and overwrites the .cfg.
My second problem is that there is no way to save the game options choices in the '=' menus. If I spend 15 min making choices there I don't want to have to do it again when my character dies, which happens fairly often. There should be a way to save those choices. Maybe there is but I just can't find it.
Thanks, Erik
P.S. It really does seem like a great game, it's just that I got used to a certain feel playing vanilla angband that I would like to be able to recreate.

Welcome, Kutuzof! You're right - New Angband is an outstanding variant, and you're in for a treat! ;D So far, you can neither maximize the main window nor save your properties. However, both of these issues have already been discussed in this forum, and they will probably be fixed in the next version. So for now, just keep the resolution at 800x600, and play as few different characters as possible. Have fun!
