I think Immolating shots ability must not make fire fields with unlimited duration - extreme damage and big area (even with one point in ability) cardinally change the tactics of game - after some battles level looks lava-filled.
And there is a possibility to fill all level with fire even without bothering with catching and hitting enemy monsters (haven't tried it yet but i think it'll work): summon some friendly monsters and burn them with immolating shot (and using magic bullets for free) Then monsters will die automatically and almost without chance to hit you (because they die very quickly). So i suggest to limit Fire fields duration to something like (10 + 1 per every 2 points) - this will make it tactical, not strategical weapon.
Maybe I'm wrong and it's how immolating shots are supposed to be used - then I'm happy:)

Fields are not meant to have duration. I guess I could add it though. This means modifying and balancing the Conjuration spells as well however...

Never seen field spellbooks in shops nor dungeons so I don't know how it's powerful, but I think it has generally lower damage and radius then immolating shots. And i can imagine magical damaging field then do not fade, but infinite-burning flame from just one bullet seems unrealistic. Maybe just decrease Immolating shots radius to (1 + 1 per N points)? (But that doesn't solve a problem with realism)

The Portralis Gunner lives in a world of magic, so he doesn't have to be realistic. But I see what you mean. Perhaps it does need nerfing, though I haven't tried playing an actual Gunner character yet(other than some debugging).
