I'm not at all sure this is a bug, but I wasn't sure about the way it is supposed to work. I have noticed that it seems that weapons that gain experience only do so if they kill an opponent with their regular damage. They don't seem to get any experience if the damage was done by a magic brand or any special attack form. Is it supposed to be like that?
Just was wondering.

It's not really intended... It's that the base damages and the brands are two different types of damages, calculated separatly. Brand are actually pure magic damages, so they are in a separate calculation, unrelated to the original weapon. Of course, this can change, and it probably should, because branded weapons should be able to gain levels just as easily.

That was the reason I mentioned it. Since the special attack and branded damages aren't counted for weapon experience, I had to apply quite a bit of effort to kill something without using either of those kinds of experience. I like to use special attacks as much as possible, and the branding is always on on regular attacks, so it would be difficult to get a weapon to a high level even if you were skilled in that class of weapons.
