I am having a reoccurring error when fighting a bandit mage. At first I thought it was erroring while throwing the monster but now it seems like it was while it was attacking me. But I have not had issues throwing any other monsters.
*edit* OK, I have confirmed it. When ever I throw a bandit mage the game crashes. I am using grappling throws with 1 point in it. I can throw other monsters with no errors but this is happening repeatedly. Does that monster have any special abilities that would have issues with the throw code?
Another bug, I identified a cloak that I had put on and it had +1 to int and wis. No bonuses were applied to my character. I tried taking the item off and putting it back on and no change.
I am playing a human monk (no other classes yet).

About the stats boosting items, you are right. It doesn't seem to work. Not sure how I screwed this up, but I tried wearing a charisma boosting pair of boots, and it didn't work. Thanks for reporting the bug!
As for the Bandit Mage... strange, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem. I tried throwing a bandit mage, and it worked fine. Have you tried with only one particular bandit mage, or does it do that with every bandit mages?

For some reasons, it seems I moved the bonus calculations below the stats bonus calculation in the source code. Because of this, the bonus to stats from items weren't taken into account. This also made me notice a new, minor bug... I had +2 to speed, and then decided to wear a cloak with +1 to speed. It did not became +3 until I moved.
Seems like the two bugs are now fixed though. First bug was fixed by placing the calculations in the right order, and second one with a simple update of the screen!

It has happened with 2 diffrent bandit mages. I have not seen any others to test it out with. I will let you know if it happens again.

OK, it just happened again with another bandit mage. I have a save file with me standing right next to the mage. I will send it to you so you can play with it.

I think I fixed the crash bug with the Bandit Mage...
I actually accidently found it while fighting a Devling Mage, and it casted summon devlings to summon more Devling Mages and instead of summoning or casting, they attacked me....and the game crashed.
So, I found out that due to their low dexterity, their hit rate was -8! And the game did not like the negative values. I figure the same problem happened with the Bandit Mage because of his low dexterity as well. The bug was in the hit rate test the monster does when it tries to hit you. So when you attempted to throw it, it most likely failed, then the monsters tried to hit you and... crash!
Hopefully this bug will not happen anymore!
