I hit the cap on what I could do in the specific dungeons, so I decided to just go in the wilderness and start winding my way down. The first time, I took a down stair and got popped back up to the wilderness, nowhere near a stair. That was strange. The next one, I recalled out after I started running out of space to carry items and recalled out. Now I can't recall back in. Word of recall just pops me back to the first square i entered town from. It does nothing else.
Will I have to create a specific dungeon with max depth 150 if I really want to start working my way down?
Might be related to the reason I couldn't use a scroll of reset recall to put myself into the random dungeon at an arbitrary depth.

Aye, the random dungeons may be Recalled out of, but not back down into. This is mainly due to them being completely random. I'm not sure how fleshed out the deep levels would be, but since monsters are leveled, it would certainly get tougher as ye travel deeper. On a side note, there is a lot to do in the 'real' dungeons already made, ye must have quite an advanced character.

Indeed, random dungeons are completely random. However, they will eventually be fleshed out more, with an actual quest level at the end, like all dungeon. Right now, they are mostly there to offer infinite gameplay while the main quest is not done yet.

well, I finished the main quest. Most of my gear is eternal, tweakable, or easily replaced, so I don't have to worry about death too much. But the finished dungeons end at 32 at the most. And I'd like to work my way deeper. I did the fallen dungeon, although I reflagged it as demon only so I could actually fight monsters. I wished I had done undead instead, since the hordes and hordes of imps was quite tiresome to fight through. I admit, I haven't done a couple of the real dungeons, including the watery cave, which is the only dungeon to reach depth 32 so far.
I made a duplicate of the ruins of fidac starting in jindar, with depth from 25-100 for something to descend down, but I'm thinking of making a more themed dungeon of some sort, with a quest at the end and a starting point in the wilderness. What flags are there to choose from? I did one level with it flagged as MAZE, then got rid of that pretty quickly.

Don't worry, I have some ideas for some high level dungeons. And some nasty monsters to go with it! ;D But right now, yeah, the further it goes is 32. You can always try to make your own. For the flags, there is SMALL, BIG, DRAGON, DEMON, UNDEAD and I'm not sure, and I think there may be an ICE flag, which will be used for the cold region of Rhyzendal in the future(but I'm not sure I implemented it yet...you'll have to try it). A question...how did you find the main quest so far in terms of story? And in terms of challenge?

I liked the storyline quite a bit. I rushed a bit this character as I had done it before.
I found it much easier this time, in part because I put my character together better, but I got incredibly lucky with that blue steel claymore. Without that, I think it would have been much more difficult. I would want much much higher chaos resistance and sustain wisdom if I had to slog it out for longer with the boss. I don't recall if he ever did physical strikes, but my AC is a wee bit high so I didn't struggle much there. I had spells set to restore status, which also restores life levels, so that didn't do much. Having my wisdom dropped blew, so it took 2 or 3 casts to restore stats. It was really a very chance driven encouter, as 2 spells in a row that I failed to resist probably would kill me.
I think magic defense may be a bit too effective. I evade spell damage a lot, which definitely contributed to my survival. Perhaps instead of just being skill*10 versus level + mind, it should be skill *10 versus mind *10?

Physically, the boss only has one blow. And his hit rate is standard for a monster of his caliber. High AC is the key. Don't rely on hp, his damages are insane. Actually, the boss's wisdom/mana blasting spells are 100% success rate scripted attacks that cannot be resisted whatsoever. This is supposed to be because he "twists" the reality, and can play at will with what is, and what is not. He has gotten pretty badass with that licialhyd, you see. But of course, he is only the beginning of the nightmare these guys are going to be in the future release. I really want to make the 2nd chapter of the main quest, but unfortunately, bug fixing might be a higher priority for 0.3....

He did have resistable chaos blows didn't he? I'd swear I got nuked a couple of times while fighting him. It was last week, and I've slept since then, so my memory is unreliable. ;P I know that I survived his attacks and could heal up before he would hit me a second time.
I guess sustain wisdom and hold life wouldn't have mattered. Luckily almost all my hp is life increasing gear and the armored health special ability, so the loss of level just didn't drop it all that much.

His chaos spells are normal monster spells that you can resist with chaos resistance, and you could learn it as a Monster Magic. For spellcasters, his special ability can be annoying, but overall, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. It's mostly to reflect his power to alter the reality more than killing the player, so that's why I didn't put something really nasty. He is only the first boss after all.
