Hmmm...can you give more details about your computer, OS, etc....
Did you compile it yourself, or you used the binaries?

hmmm... this is what I am currently using as I write this, and it works just fine when I do File->New. ...are you using any special compatibility settings maybe? Any programs running in the background that might interfere? It's hard to know what's wrong when I can't reproduce the problem....

I don't have anything in the background that affects angband or anything else. is there a way on xp to see what the error is that rashes the game?

Well, XP will give a generic error message, which won't tell much about what causes the problem...
Anyone else got this problem, and were able to ressolve it? I tried the game on three different machines: a Windows XP SP2 machine, a Windows 2000 and my Windows Vista laptop, and never got a crash....

I wonder what I changed on that user profile that crashes the game. ill post if I figure out.
on a side note.
graphics. the adam bolt tiles are good an all but I wanna try my hand at making some. any idea where to start? I've looked at the files that hold all the tiles and I don't know how it works. since its one big bitmap how does the game know whih r which? also you know a good app to create tiles?

Paint. After that, you have to modify graf-new.prf file in the /user directory of the libraries, and add some R: lines. Like this: R:83:0xAA/0x91 The coordinates are in y,x format, and in hex. Further posts regarding this should perhaps be posted in The Forge instead.
