Probably a bit of an odd build, especially since I usually don't play mana casters...
Level 15 stat base/geared Str 5/13 Int 28/34 Wis 4/8 Dex 5/11 Con 20/25 Chr 4/4
Skills Spellcraft 10 Conjuration 14 Magic Defense 10
Abilities Mana Boost 5 Force Field 5 Magic Missile 5
Gear typically consists of an amulet of brilliance, lots of phase door and teleportation scrolls, dual wielded rods (favoring warp branded rods) and a conjured shadow cloak (though recently switched out for a found battle cloak - 2200+ hp on a mage!)
Typically, he can lean on magic missile and force field for most minor enemies. Swarms and bosses are dealt with using summoned eyes, nagas, or elementals. Though this set of creatures is starting to get too weak for the depths that he's diving too. If all else fails, flailing the go-away stick (the warp branded rods) at the monster often solves the problem, or at least buys time to heal and recover mana.
Trouble spots have been fast, strong melee creatures (beserkers in particular) and magic returning bosses.
Comments or suggestions?

How about damaging fields spells? With a good Conjuration, they should do good damages! I think you can buy the books at the rare items shop...
Condider the High Mage's School Focus abilities too! Remember they can lead to free multi-effect spells!!

Argh, first death, to a beserker boss.
Hmm. I've never seen any of the field books in the rare item shop (seems the only conjuration book I've seen there to date is conjure magic item). I've found web, but still hunting for a damage field.
Definitely aiming for the school focus, once he can hit the high mage class.

Regarding conjured items. Is there any way to make them permanent?

No way that I know of. Might be an interesting alternate use for a scroll of eternality, but that could turn out to be far too powerful with some of the advanced conjures...

Interesting... Animated Knights can be made from conjured items... That's probably not supposed to happen.

Conjure Special Item + Permanent Summoned Items = Broken. So, you can actually make a knight from summoned stuff? I've never actually thought about it, so this is not really a bug or anything... But it shouldn't. Knights should be made from stuff you find.

I don't see any problem with a knight being made with summoned items. The are after magical, why not use summoned items. Also thing of the number of spells you would have to make to create a knight.

When I tried it, I used one, five-effect spell. It ate all the dwarf's mana (outside of some bugginess in the mana calculations when changing out equipment, half the time after new equipment was switched in the mana pool would be full at the new maximum, other times it would be where it should be) to create a full set of mithril armor/weapons, but could easily be done a couple dozen times somewhere safe.
