- The "False Notes" harmony and the "No Rhythm" rhythm will now be sold in Udor's Music Shop at VERY cheap price. This will help beginner Bards to compose their first starter song, which is currently difficult due to the price of songs components, and Charisma requirements. Oh really? Is this a hidden feature unlocked by typing something super secret? Because if not I am thinking this was not implemented which means Bards are STILL unplayable at the start.

In fact I have a suggestion. Change the way we change our classes so that we may start with a package custom fit for our class. This will allow starting warriors/fighters to have better armor/weapons at the start, mages a basic staff/rod, and bards song components enough to build at least one song.
The way it would work is as follows: --- Each starting character gets the usual scroll package, + an adventurer's allotment token. --- In Udor only there is a special (store) building with a vender that has 8 different kits one can purchase for one allotment token. --- If you enter this store without having selected a class, the store keeper will kick you out with the message "No apprentices allowed!" --- You can only spend the token to obtain the class kit for the class you are currently pursuing. This would allow some strategizing such as waiting for a 2nd class (such as warrior into bard for a challenge) to pick up your kit. ---the kits would be something like: For Warrior: A Shield, a Short Sword, Iron Gauntlets, Iron Boots For Fighter: a 2 handed weapon, Iron Gauntlets, Iron Boots For Rogue: a 2nd dagger, A cloak, gloves, leather boots For Mage: Magic Missiles Book, A staff/rod, a robe, gloves, shoes For Priest: Heal Book, Harm Book, For Marksman: A bow (or xbow), 30 arrows/ or bolts. For Monk: A gi (outfit for martial arts enhancement), a martial arts friendly weapon, 2-4 potions of healing For Ranger: Honestly not sure but probably similar to marksman + warrior. For Bard: 1 each of the lowest components for song arrangement. AND an instrument. Otherwise can't operate even Stunning Note.
What do you think?

As it is without a cheap enough song, even as a level 2 I can't kill level 1 monsters, though I can run away.

Gando I think that's a great idea !! ;D
Would it be easy to implement ? I ask as i'm not a programmer so have no idea about the workings.....

I suspect this could be done entirely in Lua so probably not too hard. The shop itself would be a custom job but that's just like all the others (gunsmith in the big city for example).

The Apprentice class is outdated and useless, and indeed, a starting package would be very useful for pointing each classes in the right direction from the start.

I've just realized that I've put those in Jindar's shop list, and not Udor. My mistake. At least in the meantime, you should be able to find them in Jindar's Music shop.

Died to a low level G because I couldn't get away from it and couldn't harm it in any way shape or form as a level 16 bard. How sick is that? I think the G was maybe level 9. Just couldn't deal with the constant damage and the lack of healing spells and the inability to sing any song that could damage it. On the way to the graveyard I killed 18 heat wolves, several elementals and other badasses around my level. But the little Casper just would not go away and I couldn't find a way out. Guess we can notch that up as another way in which bards suck. At least with melee guys you can eventually get a brand on your weapon that deals with the phys immunes.

?? You can beat heat wolves, but not Lesser Ghosts? Odd, considering Bards do Sound-based damage, something ghosts don't resist.
You sure it was a Lesser Ghost? Wasn't it a Wailing Phantom instead? The Wailing Phantom IS immune to Sound, and is a depth 15 enemy, so pretty much equal to your level. I can see a Bard having trouble with them, but Lesser Ghosts should in fact be quite easy to deal with, easier than melee.

It might have been a wailing phantasm. I really don't recall but even so...level 9 or so that's what I read. Anyway yeah another way bards suck.

Are the Wailing Phantoms supposed to be immune to Electrical spells? I made one specifically to take them out and it did nothing. Not even a message to say that it hit and did nothing. Really THIS is one of the most frustrating parts of the game. Not even knowing why stuff doesn't work.

Also should support instants effect enemies? seems odd that my songs would make THEM stronger and not me.

And should Effects turn OFF the default song? I thought the idea was it would work like an aura until you manually shut it off with (K) or changed the song with a different passive?

Also why does the (S)earch function keep shutting off when I move? It is supposed to be a continuous function as I understand it just as the (s)earch method works just once.

The boss of the Ruins is just a TAD too hard considering the strength of his minions. went in at 24 and still died without doing any real damage to him. (I think he took a few thousand damage. which barely scratched his 100k+) And that was with my best damage song. No fleeing tactic worked to save me either. He moves so fast that at 15 speed I was too slow to avoid his multiple ball spells. In fact the long halls in his demense do not help in that regard but he was never out of my song's range even though I was jumping 4-5 tiles away at a time. He just would move so quickly the distance I jumped didn't matter.
I'd say this is a level 40+ monster and only beatable by a bard with fully leveled (and leveled up) equipment. Which is a shame since it used to be doable right after the sword of light.
