Meanwhile managed to freeze Portralis but good opening an ancient chest. As soon as I hit 'o' the screen froze up. Have to kill it to get out.

I'm getting experience for quest monsters. Also, the make quest monsters level with you affects all monsters. Not just those in quest levels.

I've been noticing something new in the portralis menus that seems to be a graphic related error. After selling something in a shop or dropping an item in the house sometimes one or more lines is blacked out so you can't see the letter) and the beginning of the item name. Switching pages clears this as does exiting.

I'm still getting an error when using Art of Poisoinings active ability. Here's the code from abilities.lua:
The problem is in the "item = lua_get_item(0)" line. If I change this to "item = lua_pick_item(0)", which is the call that the magic item scrolls use, then the ability seems to work fine. This should help make rogues much more effective than before.

Also it is really a necessity to be able to see outstanding quests and their statuses. Is it at all possible to reinstate this fully? I know you have some esoteric reason for disliking this but for me it is really a trial to pick up where I left off even after a day and try to remember all the quests I have outstanding. Particularly since it is possible to kill some of them accidentally. The thing is that there is no such "quest" objects in Portralis. "Quests" aren't marked as "quests". An NPC mentions something, and you are free to check it out or not, basically. It probably wouldn't be that hard to implement though, and I agree that it could be useful.

Try killing the ks in the viper quests. Thats where I found them not giving anything at all. They should give experience, unless you are several levels over them. Also, how many of them did you kill? Remember that for each kill of a specific monster, the experience value you get drops by 5%. So for the first kill, you get 100% experience, but the second kill will give 95%, then 90%, 85% and so on... So after killing 20 of a specific monster, you will no longer get experience for it in a quest level. This rule only applies to quests, and is there to prevent farming.

I don't think it is a huge deal but it is specific with the white ks. I think they are just too low a depth to start with that by the time a reasonable character gets to fight them they are worthless. Odd though that & - white develins do give some xp.

The white ks should give experience. I've just checked their r_info entry, and they are worth 100% the experience of a normal kill. And the depth no longer matters, it's the level that is used to calculated experience value.
I really don't know, my only guess is that you may have killed over 20 of them. It would make sense, because there is a previous quest where you encounter the white ks, while that quest has no white &s, so that could be the reason.
You can look at a kobold, and press "r" to check the recall info, and see how many you've killed.

New Bug: When I step on water I get the message 'You are drowning' and then crash. A bit like the lava bug.

Telepathy does not work on Shadow Wights now?

Telepathy does not work on Shadow Wights now? It should. The only thing special about it is that it's normally invisible if you don't have telepathy. Are you having issues with other invisible enemies as well?

Not that I know of ...and I have at least a few different sources of telepathy. Also Monstrous Wraith has a ranged MELEE claw attack? Couldn't you just make it a ranged attack? Very confusing when he is a tile away from where I expect him after seeing the message.

It's ranged attack isn't a claw attack. It's called "Exploding Skull", and it's a fire-based ranged attack.
However, monsters can use their ranged attacks in close range as well, so maybe you got confused... If you were one tile away, though, it shouldn't have used a claw attack. It should have used Exploding Skull...
