Selecting the 'Turn off main essence bonus' option from the 'K' command menu silently fails.

Just died on dungeon level 42 from a Planar Phantom attack(Planar Blade). According to indicator in right-bottom corner he deals 767319834 damage. Sadly the bug isn't reproducable, but it seems there is possible overflow somewhere.
Another bug - either Nightmare scouts, summoned from Nightmare Scout Essense shouldn't be friendly, or recharge time of this ability shouln't be 0.

Planar phantoms are just evil. Usually when I see one I die.

Not sure if this is a bug or I'm just misunderstanding the results, but I put a couple points in the priest's Turn Undeads (out of desperation in a sticky vault situation...normally I just save my AP for Light of Life, which is a much better use of the AP points) and the undead were being turned into pets *and* getting angry...in the same round.

Not really a bug, but the Spells.txt file is outdated. There's no harm spell under mysticism, and a cure bleeding spell.

I've run into a Word of Recall bug. I can warp out of dungeons fine. I was also able to return to the Monks dungeon. For some reason though, I can't recall back to the lake dungeon. I just returns warps me back to where I entered my current town map.

Are you sure you haven't visited random dungeons before recalling? Entering random dungeon resets your recall position so you will be warped to town.

I'm sure. I entered the lake dungeon, immediately recalled out, then walked to Jindor and tried to return to the dungeon. Also, after dying in a dungeon, I'm able to recall back into it. I still can't return to a dungeon I recall out of, but haven't yet died in.

Also, I just encountered the ranged bug that was reported earlier on a new marksman character. Except this was with a shortbow rather than a light crossbow.
EDIT: Here's a copy of the error
...Portralis04build02\lib\script\ranged.lua:764:attempt to compare number with nil
After that is a traceback to init.lua:66:in function '_TRACEBACK' ranged.lua:764:in function 'ranged_damages' ranged.lua:108:in function 'handler' event.lua:51:in function 'notify_event_hook'
EDIT2: I just tested a longbow and a light crossbow on the same character, and both give the same error now that the shortbow was giving. Also, the first time I got the error was before I picked a class. I repeated the tests after choose Marksman and the error still occurs.

Dow Fix for this bug already was posted in this forum - replace all strings "local stealthbonus" in ranged.lua to "local stealthbonus=0"

Sorry about that. I did a quick check for the fix before I posted, but somehow missed that. I have however found another bug. This time with the marksman's Enhance Ranged Weapon ability. It says abilities.lua:2063: attempt to call global 'give_object_ident' (a nil value) after selecting the weapon and type of enhancement. The weapon does get enhanced though.

An adendum to my previous post. After getting 10 points in Enhance Ranged Weapon, I don't get an option to add elemental damage.

Another ranged attack error. When shooting at a monster with a ranged counter, you get an array out of bounds error if you are shooting an ammo that is going to drop on the floor (ie, it did not break on firing, and it did not return) I can see how this one has been missed for so long since most marksman builds rely on either firearms (which never drop the ammo, they break 100% of the time) or returning ammo or the shooting skill returning shots feat. There is a side effect though... as far as I could tell, only shooting skill was added to your power during the contested roll to determine if a monster countered your ranged attack. Your specialist ranged weapon skill is not added (bow, crossbow, or firearms skills). Here is the fix (near line 625 in elements.lua) Simply comment the lines in yellow as I have done and then add the lines in green -- if (drop_ranged.tval > 0) then if (shoot_type == 1) then proll = proll + p_ptr.skill[19] end if (shoot_type == 2) then proll = proll + p_ptr.skill[20] end if (shoot_type == 3 or shoot_type == 4) then proll = proll + p_ptr.skill[21] end
-- proll = proll + p_ptr.skill[drop_ranged.itemskill] -- end

Dow Hmm, that option only comes up if you enhance a ranged weapon and choose option 3, the power enhancement... Were you choosing velocity or general enhancement? I am working on a ranged weapon character right now, and I got the damage type change option when I enhanced a ranged weapon with the power enhancement...

Ah, I was using the general enhancement. The way it was written, I thought the damage type was applied with any of them.
