Gando,
Please keep the bugs thread for actual bugs.
Divination being underpowered/useless is not a bug, and comments on the reload mechanic belongs to the Suggestions/Comments forum, not this one. Flooding this board with frustration and comments on the effectiveness of some abilities or game mechanics will make it harder for me to focus on the actual bugs.
My definitions of a bug includes: - Anything that crashes the game. - Something intended to work one way, but doesn't. (like, you activate an ability, then nothing happens. An underpowered ability, however, is not considered this.) - An exploit that allows you to bypass game mechanics or prevents game mechanics from working. - Broken and abusable features that could make a normally difficult encounter trivial. (infinite combos, items duplication, free invincibility, etc...) - A problem that makes certain quests technically impossible to finish(like the Balcia bug where she vanish and doesn't come back). - Major oversights. (like branded weapons vs teleporting enemies) - Glitches.
And before reporting a bug, make sure you have the correct information. (you may want to ask in the Suggestions/Comments or general forum). For example, a physical immune being affected by shots is perfectly normal. Monster is immune to the Physical type, and guns do Physical damages. Physical immunes were always intended to be immune to shots, it has been like this since NewAngband.
It's very important for me, because if the bug thread is flooded, but half of these threads are complaints about game mechanics or things being underpowered, or difficulty, then it's not really bugs, and it causes me to ignore many of the actual bugs due to them being burrowed by other posts.
Your complaints and comments are perfectly valid, and I appreciate these comments. But make sure they are posted in the right thread. This will make it easier for me, and raise the chances that something will be done to fix the problem. Or at least get an answer about why something was done in a certain way.

its not an int cap...I raised my stats with an amulet and still no spell books....thousands of tries...nothing.
Meantime I can't figure out why this character can't get spellbooks from the blackmarket, unless it has something to do with the class. But since it is a game of multiclassing that doesn't make sense either. This is the first Marksman/Gunner I have played in a long time but I don't ever remember having this problem before.
This is really odd. I checked my other characters and even started a new apprentice... All of them can see spellbooks in the blackmarket. But my gunner can't. No matter how many times he goes back it is always devoid of spell books. Is it some weird bug or a specific hoser vs gunners?
Ok so after a few thousand tries I did find a spell book...Maybe there is some weird marker in the game somewhere that determines what randomly gets created and it never reset until I loaded a new character? Dunno. That is the only explanation I've got.

And yet when I commented on how certain elemental attacks were resisted with Physical Immunity you said you needed to clarify that it ISN'T simply physical immunity but Melee Immunity. Last I checked Ranged attacks aren't Melee.

As for bugs vs nonbugs. I find something that seems nonfunctional/wrong/broken I report it as a bug. Whether it is or not is not up to me to determine. Ignore it if you think it isn't. I could just give up on this game and you and not report a d**ned thing instead.

>>Sharpen shots increase ammo base stats, not magical abilities. It is especially useful for enchanting magic bullets or conjured ammo. <<
so why does it make them magical without abilities?

This last bit was not needed. If you need a break from the game, then stop playing it, but do not start flaming, please.
All I am asking is for this thread to be better organized and more clear, to make it easier to spot which bugs needs to be fixed. I work at technical support, and in the past, we used to report all issues we came across to the developpers, regardless whether they were actual bugs or simple questions. The result was that it became difficult for them to determine which were bugs and which were not, and that caused delay for the bug fixes, and also caused them to miss some of them.
Now, what we are doing is that we have a technical support forum(very similar to the Suggestions/Comments forum), and a bugs reports forums for obvious bugs, or things that have been confirmed as bugs. I'd like to take a similar approach.

First of all I flamed no one. Let us be clear. Flaming is an attack on someone. No one was attacked. I did use an expletive for emotional emphasis. (Not everyone even considers that to be a curse word of any sort. In fact many preachers use it regularly as does the christian bible. However people know it denotes anger.)
The anger is for the way you approach the bug reporting. IE: you don't seem to want our help reporting what we find wrong with your game. Only what you consider to be critical errors. I am glad to help ferret out critical errors as I find them of course and have done so in the past but usually that ISN'T the object of my gaming. Usually the object is to enjoy it and or at least find out why it ISN'T fun. That is the purpose for my 'spam'. That you consider it unhelpful tells me that you either don't want our help at all or can't parse what is written (which could be my fault for not being clear about what I think the problem is.)
Now if you would like me to use less posts to report with well OK ...I can manage that but often when I am reporting something I am also doing other things and not really thinking about how I should conserve space on the boards.
I suggest you keep this thread for all bugs and have a serious bugs thread we can use to provide you with information on critical bugs. Separating what I consider to be dysfunctions into a suggestions box is decidely unhelpful imho. You may find that useful AFTER they are posted but when users are posting such things they may (or may not) be able to tell what is merely a bad mechanic and what is an "unintentional feature" aka bug. It is simple enough to say: 'This is a bug, this isn't ...moving on...'

It was the "and you" part that I didn't like, to be honest.
The problem isn't that I don't like peoples reporting bugs. The problem is the way these threads gets so huge to the point where it becomes difficult to manage. I enjoy working on the game, and make classes, features, new monsters, quests, etc... Fixing bugs, however, is not fun. So if in addition to fixing them, I have to spend a lot of time skimming through threads to figure out what is a bug, and what isn't, I often just give up and do something else, which ends up delaying the release date of updates. Sometimes a lot so.
Making a separate thread for critical issues is a good idea. This forum needs to be more structured, so that it becomes easy to find bugs, and reference threads if needed. The last 003 thread has like 16 pages, and I want to avoid a repeat of this. Splitting this forum could be a good start.

You don't even need to split the forum...just designate what threads are for what and enforce it as necessary. You can't expect us to know what you think is a bug and what is merely a nuisance. To some extent I do know and for everything I post you can bet there are 10 things I don't (like how does an eye target you with summons and waves if you don't have line of sight...I know ...it is an artifact of Angband code and not something you designed.)
As far as the "And you" goes...well that was my frustrating speaking. I spend a lot of time other places telling people to come check out your game. I spend a lot of time in game looking for ways to improve it and experimenting with things I don't like just so I can make sure they do work. (Like my current gunner class character which seems to have some issues.) I'm sorry if that offended you.

Maybe restructuring the way bug reports are submitted would make it easier on Variaz, and easier to maintain coherent discussions (instead of individual topics within a thread being mingled with unrelated reports). Perhaps splitting the bug reports, and treating the bug report sections of the forums as a bug tracker - for example, separate sections/subforums such as "bug reports - open" "bug reports - closed" "bug reports - need testing" and then going with a scheme of one thread (or maybe a poll "me too" or "not me" responses) per bug/issue so that individual threads can be sorted out when they're addressed (one way or another) rather than having to go through the monolithic bug thread and determine what's been done, minor, or just a suggestion repeatedly.

Not sure if this is a bug or not - sorry if it isn't..... I found a ring of invisability which was a great find seeing I was playing a Shadow Stalker, BUT there seems to be a set time you stay invisible then you have to remove it & put it back on..... Is this right ? I'd have thought that wearing it meant I would stay invisible ?

Minor glitch I just noticed; when your character has a long name it gets shortened in the save files. The .prf file for macros is left intact, which means the automatic loading fails.
Temporary solution: players can manually rename .prf files (portralis/lib/user/)
Permanent solution: game can shorten the .prf files to match the save name.

If you save game in Limbo, then load it, then run into one of the walls (if you have flying, of course), you will be teleported to wilderness without death counts and equipment loss. Probably this is because size of the Limbo map in savefile is lesser than it must be.

No this doesn't work in the current version. Not sure about past versions. Unless you are leaving something out.

In the lighted "Arena" areas that start off fully revealed, you can jump through walls.
