Stepping on a water square and getting the drowning message freezes up the game, forcing me to shut it down and restart from the previous save. Enjoy.

Using the steal item command from the U menu randomly froze the game.

Or not so randomly. It seems to happen when the monster only has one item in his inventory. Unfortunately there is no way to avoid this once it happens.

really really annoying as it makes the whole thievery ability useless.

quaffing a cure light wounds potion crashed the game. I had 0 alchemy if that helps.

I actually noticed the problem also occurs with enemy fields. Enemy fierlds, potions and water damages from drowning all share the same code.
Strange though... I don't remember changing that code since the last release, and the last potion I tried worked fine(very recently).
But I confirm that the bug is there.

Any fix for this yet? Id like to be able to play my rogue but since I put points into thievery seems to be no point while it's broken.

I looked through all the script files hoping to find a solution to this problem but nothing even remotely close to Thievery showed up. This is a shame since I was looking forward to playing a new Rogue. I have it saved at the point where it does this. the monster has one item a) copper and the choice of a) or esc is available but doing either just freezes the game. It always does this when there is a single item so I am certain it is like the other single item bugs I found last year. (an off by 1 error). I may break down and look for it in the source but since I don't have a compiler that won't really help.

I'll look at both bugs. I believe I found the one for the water/fields/potions as well. I'll try to upload a fix tomorrow.

Macros also seem to be broken. I've been trying to assign some U+other to various buttons and none of them activate when pressed.

I've tried to assign macros to F1-F12 and Tab, it seems ok. System - Windows XP.
Are all (even non-branded) magical weapons supposed to have change-type ability or it is a bug?

Are all (even non-branded) magical weapons supposed to have change-type ability or it is a bug? Type change activations are available on red and green items. For reds, it will be there is it has a Misfortune level equal or higher than it's depth level. It will always be available on greens, no matter what. It shouldn't be available on normal purples and blues(unless they're ice weapons). Did you find a purple with a type change activation?

I can confirm this. I haven't really thought about it but some of the purples I've gotten are elemental. That is you can change them to some element.

Blade of Purity is evidently considered magic by Magic Immune bosses.
