Reason for this poll is that it seems that lately, Quazar, who is supposed to be the first zulgor you meet and to inspire fear with his reality twisting prowesses and massive strength, has been one-shoted or at least one-rounded by most of my characters. And then I receive the dialog "after a seemingly endless battle", and I can't help but laugh. ;D So what about you guys? Do you think he is too easy, and he should be a bit harder? Or am I the only one who actually has an easy time with him? Share your thoughts!

While I was tempted to say he is quite difficult the fact of the matter is he is beatable. BUT that said alot of his difficulty depends on how soon you face him. If you face him as SOON as you can you will be squashed unless you have unbelievable luck with drops and are an expert player. The twist ability can be quite nasty and by itself can wreck a plan if you dont kill him fast enough. However as I mentioned...he is beatable of you come prepared. And as the first chapter boss I dont think he should be unbeatable. In fact I dont ascribe to the idea that ANY boss should be unbeatable. The point of bosses is to lend drama to the story. It is a crisis to overcome. Simon is a little harder than Quazar and gets harder still as you face him again (and again) but the same things apply. Well that's my two cents. I havent played in a while (because of the storage bug) and I havent beaten Quazar in a really long time so maybe my comments are a bit nullified by that.

I haven't fought Quazar very often, but I don't think I've had any difficulty when I have. Then again, maybe I've been rather to high a level by then. My opinion is not to make him any weaker.

only faced him once, and the first reality twisting put some real fear into me (the second now that i think about it, i beliv e his teleporting you away is part of the reality twisting since it doesn't show up on monster memory...) But the horrifying 'NOW! I SHALL ERASE ALL YOUR MEMORIES!' gave me a shock of fear... at first i thought 'oh crap, my spells!' or remembered ID's... but just the exp drain was nasty at level 26... and of course, it caused a complete crapload of his exp to go to waste, since i didn't bring restoratino licialhyds with me, but those appear to completely negate that effect, so carrying 2, (or 4 to be safe) would nullify that aspect... but i only fought him once, and he died in about 10 rounds of combat, so i probably didn't see everything he can do. (Didn't vote until i can get more info on the tricks he cna pull... but i'm already wondering about a soul guardian filching his soul... hopefully no buggy dialog like balgam did way back when.)
Edit: as a side note, how the hell did you one round him? even with my main essence and martial arts skill of 100 and power punch, i don't think i could pull that off. And even my normal attack wouldn't do that much in one round, even IF all the blows connected.

And even my normal attack wouldn't do that much in one round, even IF all the blows connected. To be honest, I had levelable items by then, so that helped. With normal characters, Sheer Power + Accurate Strike with a polearm works very well! For monsters, elemental melee attacks can be greatly enhanced by Inner Elemental Mastery. It makes a big difference! And kind of kill the challenge I guess, since Quazar was meant to be beatable without levelables. One of Portralis' key for dealing high damages is to combine abilities rather than focus everything into one, as the bonus are not additive, but multiplicative, for the most part. For example, let's take Element Strike. Element Strike lvl. 20 is x3 damages, while Element Strike lvl 10 + Mastery of Element lvl 10 is x2 x2. So if your base damages are 10000, Element Strike lvl. 20 will deal 30000, but Element Strike + Mastery of Element both at lvl 10 will give you 40000.
