Also when starting a new game with monster race, when choosing a monster kind, if you select any kind and then press ESC a general kind "Monster" will be selected and you can't change it. I think it should return to the previous menu. Fixed.

It appears that Spellcraft no longer effects the radius of a ball spell. I looked up the code in learn.c and the bonus to radius from the specialized skills is there but not from spellcraft:int rad; s32b elembonus = (p_ptr->skill[22] * 20) + (p_ptr->skill[1] * 10); s32b alterbonus = (p_ptr->skill[23] * 5) + (p_ptr->skill[1]); s32b mystbonus = (p_ptr->skill[24] * 20) + (p_ptr->skill[1] * 10); rad = spell_ptr->radius ; if (is_elemental(spell_ptr->type)) { if (spell_ptr->type == GF_MISSILE) elembonus = elembonus / 2; spellpower += multiply_divide(spellpower, elembonus, 100); [glow=red,2,300]rad += (p_ptr->skill[22] / 20);[/glow] } if (is_alteration(spell_ptr->type)) { spellpower += multiply_divide(spellpower, alterbonus, 100); rad += (p_ptr->skill[23] / 20); } if (dir == 0) { if (!(get_aim_dir(&dir))) return; } [glow=red,2,300]ignore_spellcraft = TRUE;[/glow] fire_ball(spell_ptr->type, dir, spellpower, rad); ignore_spellcraft = FALSE;
In fact it seems spellcraft no longer effects the radius on anything - is this intentional?
Fixed. Other than normal spells, as far as radius is concerned, spellcraft will affect most magical attacks that are balls or circles. However, in the case of bolts, it will not affect their radius ever. I tested monster innate spells and spellcraft works fine with them, so I assume that it should work elsewhere as well.

I was playing a celestial rods/spellcaster character in 006, and I came upon a room with some ice fields in the Fidac ruins dungeon. I stepped on the field and the game froze up. I ran the converter to 007 and then stepped on the field in 007 and again, the game froze. Fixed. And actually, this was the same thing as an older reported bug that caused the game to crash if you drank an offensive potion. This too has been fixed. (but why would you do that in the first place? )

(but why would you do that in the first place? ) Shouldn't E.Lords be able to down potions of their element to heal if they've got that absorbtion ability? Since the damaging potions tend toward higher numbers, that might actually be useful...

So apparently the sleep bug is still in effect. I have an item with Dark Slumber as an ability, activated it to put a couple monsters to sleep and they woke up the same turn and attacked...all without missing a beat.

You can jump through closed doors...I figured this was incorrect behavior even though it saved me once.

There is a very serious inventory bug going on here...I started playing .03.7.2 with my soulguardian celestial (Gabriel) who has a ton of money (1.5m or so gold) and stored his gold in the house 100k at a time. did a dungeon came back up and discovered that only the 1st two pages of the inventory exist anymore. I lost quest rewards and other valuable items. Until this is fixed I advise everyone to avoid exceeding the old 2 screen limit or risk losing valuable items and possibly breaking the game if you stored quest items there.

Its my lucky day today...this is what I get for playing again...Found a really bad bug that loops the game through the time sequence (day/night) ad infinitum. The only way to end it is to control-alt-delete and kill it in the task manager. This happened when I healed my prismatic dragon of the con damage finally (inflicted by simon and unhealable until recently). Then I rested and...viola endless loop! :/

Oh and now the game doesn't even load properly anymore. Ill reinstall and see if I can replicate the bugs.
===EDIt===
This goes back to that old Angband error that I talked about before...something stays hidden in behind the scenes in windows and the fonts or something are broken until a reboot. I am pretty sure the way the game is coded is at the root of this as angband varients are the only games Ive ever had that behave this way. And they seem to interact with each other this way too.

ok so I have a clue now what the rest problem is...the 'R' command with * means rest until healed...but if you have over a certain amount of hp (after healing the con bug) you never stop resting as your hp drop to some low number (less than .01% of the max) and then the game sees the low hp and tries to heal it. Variaz I am sending you my save file to examine and play with.

And so I decided to suicide (so I could keep my levels)...and came across yet another bug...I ended back in Udor stuck in trees near the east side of the town walls instead of near my home.
