Odd pre fix (01) bug: I'm getting the black screen of death (which indicates based on the message I get when I try to fiddle with menu items that the script loading process is buggy.)
I am able to load build 3.6_1 however. I will see how long this lasts...I have a feeling that this is related to running other angband varients without rebooting...though this is just a guess.

And to update this...yes this happens when you run anpther Angband varient. I am not sure why but it seems it has something to do with how the game loads...No processes are visible in taskmanager so it isn't that... The message the client gives if you try and use the menu items (other than exit) is: "You can't do that right now." Which indicates the game stops loading before the scripts are even introduced...the news page isn't loaded yet either...In any case this strikes me as a very undesirable behavior. Perhaps it would be a good idea to track it down and kill it?
Also my comment previously about the fix build working was incorrect. It loaded normally before I added the ini file and pref file from the old version but afterwards gave the same error. As did much older builds.

I was under the impression that we were doing away with hunger....I died pointlessly just now because my monster who had no money died and lost his food rations and since it was dark (why? ) couldn't find the dungeon entrance in time.

I found, uh... that ^, if it's showing correctly. I'm guessing it's some kind of bug, at least...

Hmmm Main Essence attacks are treated as magical?

Hmmm Main Essence attacks are treated as magical? If it's elemental typed, yes, as do elemental melee weapons. The purpose is to allow you to use them to kill physical immunes.

It was suggested, though I didn't make the change yet. Not a bug.

Argh! Potion thing again -- this time, I'm XP drained and potions of restore level are doing jack. Just to be sure, I downed restore stats and status as well, with no luck. Is there anything on my end that could help with this?

Though I still think its a heinous thing to happen to some unsuspecting first timer. I remember a couple posts here where this was addressed. So I am pretty certain the .ini file ISNT bugged since everything works as expected now. What I think is bugged is the way the program deals with basic things like fonts etc. I realize that Angband code for that stuff was written in the dark ages but now that its the 21st century perhaps it is time to improve upon it a bit?

Anyway, seriously, this is most likely related to the new vaults code, as I remember experiencing the same bug during the early vaults code I changed. It seemed like it was fixed, but apparently it isn't...

Is there anything on my end that could help with this? So perhaps I was testing the wrong thing the other day... I tested the stats potions, but not the restore levels. I've repduced the bug. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible. EDIT: Wow, and it does that with the potion of restore stats too! That's really odd...
