AHA! ok, you really need both checks for monster death, not just the second one. I'm not sure why, but if your brand "kills" the monster, and you also have dragon's fury, then I think that is what is crashing your game when the code goes to do the dragon's fury damage as well (because it didn't return from monster death like it should have) then something doesn't work right and the game crashes. Make sure you have BOTH checks for monster death. I know you are using aria's soul, and if you have leveled it up a bit, that light brand can be quite decent... if you are fighting undead, well then you are going to get this crash a lot. Indeed, I have both checks in my scripts. You NEED both checks!

Ok so hopefully adding the 2nd check should fix it? Perhaps it is time for an update then...

So far no more crashes...so Im thinking this fixes the problem.

Im not sure if this counts as a bug or a complaint but.. I added some Soul Guardian to my Kensai build as with the high wis score it seemed natural. So Soul Binding 5...+ some fallen souls...blah blah...turns out almost nothing I can soul capture except young dragons + are even worth binding to anything because everything gets huge negatives to resists...granted I suppose one could try and get opposing items to cancel out such catastrophic disasters but why bother? Also decided to bind to a ring of fire resist...guess what? Soul Binding works on Rings and Amulets (yay for amulets/rings of nothing actually having a use...) but the former enchantment whatever it is, is wiped out...now Id say boo...but Im sure that was intentional. Its a pretty darned inconvenient drawback though since the ability is the only reason I bothered to cross into the class....wearing low end items is hard enough (due to Kensai restrictions) without crippling the few items that are wearable. Odd thing is...though I have had MANY narrow escapes I guess Ive gotten adept at knowing when to run so I havent lost my precious few decent items (yet....knock on wood!) but it seems like the one compatible class to add to Kensai to fill that gaping hole doesn't work so well without huge amounts of ability points. I can see that even bothering to spend 5 aps was a semi waste...though I did manage to find one young dragon I could capture and bind to a cloak for a very nice bonus to strength...the +5% fire resist was ok too though soul binding resist bonuses in general suck. Im guessing that it is a dedicated specialization ability not meant for multiclass splashing but Im at loss for what else to do instead. As I am about to hang up this character for now Ill post a dump in the builds section and break down its abilities.... =edit= just realized I posted this in the wrong thread so used to clicking on the main bug thread from the front page.
