There is an interesting feature or bug. My character made the ultimate lamp of magic with a couple of magic item scrolls and a scroll of leveling. With a high charisma she can buy unlimited amount of scrolls. After a 100th scroll of magic item the lamp was a realy ... useful item:)

Yeah, those scrolls works on light sources as well, it's meant to be this way so you can use it on the Orb of Death Light, for example, and other future artifact light sources. And in the next upload, Orbs are craftable.

You can use Magic Item scrolls? Mine are completely bugged in the current build. They don't work at all and spew a nasty code error message every time I try to read one. I don't recall the error message. I'll try to scribble it down next time I'm by a rare item shop.

This one V reported himself .

Yeah, I was mostly reading through this thread as the primary, I guess I should get down into the trenches and read the rest of the stack.
Coming in recently, it's hard to tell which of these bugs are for which versions though - that's why I was mostly relying on this thread as the definitive 0.3b002 set. Guess that's not the case though.

Well mostly it is except when someone breaks format and makes a new thread...in the case of the magic item scroll V discovered the error right after posting a new build which people had already downloaded so instead of just posting a new build for one minor error he made a thread to alert us to the discrepancy and gave us the fix (though I was hard headed enough to not get the fix to work right away )

Temple of golden sul-rin is a bugnest! The game crumbled when my character stepped in there. It canot open T200.txt... The mighty Sul-Rin is still waiting for the Creator to actually BUILD her palace. It's not done yet. I'm focusing more on Ivhala right now, not sure if I'll do some work on Rhyzendal or not. I'll try to fix the snow and ice dungeons though.

regarding charisma when buying and selling, I would suggest formulas which asymptotically approach 100% of the item's value when buying and selling, but never actually hit it. For instance, when selling an item it could be Value * Chr/(Chr +15). So with 5 chr you receive 25% of the value but at 200 you receive about 95%. Buying could be the inverse, Value * (Chr+15)/Chr. At 5 points you pay 4 times as much, while with 200 it it's about 4.8% more.

"You take damages from your spell!"
Okay...... one, I'm a monster, and two, its an arrow. a physical element arrow. not a spell. aren't I not supposed to get returned damages from my attacks anyway?

Hmmm...perhaps ranged attacks from monster are treated as spells, and they shouldn't. Will have to check it out.

There seem to be some special cases where returning still works at the moment. I don't recall exactly what they are.
I think if you use magic missile against a monster that returns physical? Or was it magical damage? Not sure. I just remember actually taking some returning damage last night and being a bit surprised by it, but I couldn't figure out what the exact circumstance was because the target evaporated from the spell before I could check its returning type (pretty sure the spell was magic missile).

"Where returning still works?" I've been kinda playing this on and off for a while, but I didn't realize that returning damages were turned off.

Nasty bug/exploit with Soul Guard ability.
Repro: 1) when hit by an enemy attack, respond (yes) to the query of whether you want to use a soul guardian. 2) When asked to select a soul guardian to protect you, abort out with the 'esc' key rather than choosing one.
Result: The enemy attack is aborted altogether and you will take no effect at all.
As a side note, when actually using soul guard correctly, I notice it doesn't block nearly as much damage as the description says it should.
I used a lvl 25 Rock worm soul (they have a fairly tremendous hp value) to block an incoming 7k spell attack, and it still killed me outright at 4.5k hp, so the soul blocked less than 3k, which is a modest fraction of its HP. Description says it should block its HP in damage, but that's obviously wrong.

Fixed. Thanks for reporting!
Actually, it uses the monster's max hp roll, regardless of level. So that's why it doesn't prevent as much as the description would have you think.
You'd be happy to know that both Soul Guard and Great Guard have been improved in the upcoming upload. Before reducing the final damages, the damages are divided by the ability's level! Making both abilities much more effective.
