I was able to reach the bottom of the quest. The 's'earch let me found some sw***, which I used to open some secret passage to reach new areas, while tunneling through granite let me reach other areas. But then I came to a dead end, no more granite to tunnel, no more sw*** to use. I repeated the whole procedure 3 times, with no result. There is a given order for use the sw***? Or what? Some hints? Thank you very much.
PS I'm sorry for my really bad english

Is switch a censored word? Anyway, there are some "trap" switches that make walls appear, and prevent you from going further. Yes, it's evil. ;D The ruins are tricky, and may take a couple of tries to get right. The boss is fairly strong, so make sure you're ready for him too. If you struggle beating the skeletons, a few more levels may help. You don't want to beat the switches, only to die at the boss, don't you?

No, no Switch is not a censored word :-p I used *** like a sort of "anti-spoiler", probabily un-necessary :-)
Thank you for the answer

Ya know if this forum had a rich text editor you could just use a block of same colored text/background as an antispoiler (this works well if the block is marked as spoiler: [block] just a thought ==edit== just realized there is a rich text editor here but it doesnt allow you to change the background or use the #555555 color used by the current background. perhaps black on grey?

SPOILER WARNING[glow=Black,500,0]1. The hardest switch to find (for me) was the one closest to the entrance. 2. Each switch always does the same thing, regardless of the order that it was pressed, so if a switch creates a permanent wall, it will always create that permanent wall. This makes it easier to figure out what to do, because bad switches are ALWAYS bad, and good switches are ALWAYS good. No need to revisit the bad ones. Also, if a switch opens a wall or closes one, it will only ever affect a single space, so you don't need to look for "secondary" effects. 3. If you have got the key before, the monster that held the key will no longer exist on the level if you leave and go back. The key is eternal, but if you are a crafter or alchemist, the game will happily let you select it as a combination component, which will of course destroy it, and I believe this will prevent you from ever being able to finish the level, so be careful crafting stuff when you have the key![/glow]

Id say you got very unlucky if you encountered this problem. I am the king of fumblefingers keyboarding and I never had that happen while crafting. Sure I managed to "craft" away several unimportant items but never a quest item.
But as I said in a bug report Long long ago (a month ago I think?): This is a bug that needs to be fixed. Alchemy/Crafting should not be able to destroy artifacts or quest items or really anything with the eternal flag for that matter. If its eternal it should be imune to crafting attempts entirely.
